Watching TV on the iPod Touch. iPod touch has changed the way we were living in the era of pre-iPod. It has become one of the most sought after things these days. The reason is its high quality hardware, stylish look and stunning capacity to reproduce the audio and video files.

Not only that, one of the most exhilarating features of the fifth generation video-equipped iPods, (iPod nano, iPod Classic, iPod Touch and of course the iPhone) has the capability to view the television shows.

As there are several copyright and other procedural reasons, it is not possible to transfer TV shows from any DVD, internet or Apple TV to your iPod. You have to purchase the TV shows online from the iTunes store. It is available in a competitive price of US$ 1.99 for each episode. There is also an option to buy the entire episodes.

Purchasing a TV show from the iTunes store is just like buying any other music or movie file. Again, the collection is not vast and you may have to settle for some cheap shows like Desperate Housewives, Lost and similar stuffs. The TV show files are very much large; sometimes it may be well over 500 MB. It will take at least 40-50 minutes to download even you have a broadband connection at your place. The files are so large to maintain the original quality. That means you can’t just have the freedom to watch your favorite program just after buying, it needs some time.

After the download procedure is completed, you have to transfer it to the iPod using the iTunes via USB cable.

To tell you the truth, watching any TV show in an iPod is a little bit cumbersome. You have to hold the device for the whole time until the show is finished (it may be up to 30-40 minutes). Therefore, watching TV shows in your iPod should not be the first choice, rather it is a novelty till now.
